Hey guys, I'm Annie.
I'm a freelance writer, editor, and consultant, and I live in Brooklyn Heights in New York City. My specialties are travel and wellness, and I especially love looking at how and where those two intersect.
I've written for many publications, including AFAR, Condé Nast Traveler, BuzzFeed, Yahoo! Travel, Cosmo, Bon Appetit’s Healthyish, The New York Post, SELF, Elle, Women's Health, Good Housekeeping, Well + Good, mindbodygreen, Ebony, Fitness, Shape, Health, Redbook, Prevention, Yahoo! Health, Trending NY, and Time Out New York. I also write editorial for brands, including Intrepid Travel, Equinox's Furthermore, and Brooklinen.
Before I went freelance, I was the Branded Content Editor at SELF, a wellness brand owned by Condé Nast. I worked with our editorial team and our advertising team to come up with great content ideas and then execute them so that all parties involved were happy. I also started a wellness travel column at SELF called Broader Horizons, which I still write on a freelance basis. In the column, I write about the wellness lessons I've learned on my travels.
Before SELF, I was the Travel Editor at BuzzFeed, where I wrote and edited content about all things travel: wellness travel, budget travel, relationships and travel, the psychology of travel, food and travel, how travel affects your career (and/or how to make it your career), and more. Travel is the ultimate umbrella topic, and I am a huge believer in its power to shape you into a smarter, wiser, and more adventurous, globally-minded person.
Prior to BuzzFeed, I was an editor at Yahoo! Travel. Before that, I was a full-time freelance writer, where I covered all things lifestyle: travel, millennial trends, wellness, sex, dating & relationships, career, and more. Before I took the freelance plunge, I was an Associate Editor at Cosmo, and before that, an Assistant Editor and Editorial Assistant at Good Housekeeping. I've also dabbled in TV and radio, both of which I love.
I grew up in Barrington, Rhode Island (just outside of Providence), and went to Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA, where I majored in American Studies and spent my junior year abroad in London and Norwich, England. I've traveled through 27 countries, and I'm not stopping anytime soon. Aside from travel, my favorite hobbies are running, photography, listening to tons of music (mostly reggae and all the songwriters, plus jam and hip hop), healthy cooking, and just hanging out.
