Hey guys, I'm Annie.
I'm the Branded Content Editor at SELF, and I live in Brooklyn Heights in New York City.
At SELF, a wellness brand owned by Condé Nast, I work with our editorial team and our ad sales team to create content we can sell that lives up to our editorial standards. I also freelance on the side when I have time!
Before SELF, I was the Travel Editor at BuzzFeed, where I wrote and edited features about wellness travel, budget travel, relationships and travel, the psychology of travel, food and travel, how travel affects your career (and/or how to make it your career), and more. Travel is the ultimate umbrella topic, and I am a huge believer in its power to shape you into a smarter, wiser, and more adventurous, globally-minded person.
Prior to BuzzFeed, I was a full-time freelance editor at Yahoo Travel. Before that, I was a full-time freelance writer, where I covered all things lifestyle: millennial trends, wellness, travel, sex, dating & relationships, career, and more. I've written for AFAR, Women's Health, the New York Post, Cosmo, Ebony, Good Housekeeping, Trending NY, Fitness, Time Out New York, Shape.com, Elle.com, Redbook.com, Health.com, Prevention.com, Yahoo Health, and United Hemispheres. I did digital media consulting for startups, too.
Before I took the freelance plunge, I was an associate editor at Cosmo, and before that, an assistant editor and editorial assistant at Good Housekeeping. I've also dabbled in TV and radio, both of which I love.
I grew up in Barrington, Rhode Island (just outside of Providence), and went to Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA, where I majored in American Studies and minored in English, and spent my junior year abroad in London and Norwich, England. I've traveled through 26 countries, and I'm not stopping anytime soon. Aside from travel, my favorite hobbies are running, photography, listening to tons of music (mostly all the songwriters, plus reggae/jam/hip hop), healthy cooking, and just hanging out.
