Hey guys, I'm Annie.
I'm a Brooklyn-based freelance writer, editor, reporter, and consultant with more than a decade of experience in national lifestyle media. My specialties are travel and wellness, and I especially love looking at how and where those two intersect. In fact, I write a travel column for SELF, the wellness brand owned by Condé Nast, called Broader Horizons, that’s all about the wellness lessons I’ve learned on my travels.
I’ve also written for many other publications, including AFAR, Cosmo, BuzzFeed, Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, Yahoo! Travel, United Hemispheres, New York magazine’s Vulture, Bon Appetit’s Healthyish, Brides, The New York Post, Ad Age, Elle, Women's Health, Well + Good, mindbodygreen, Refinery29, Ebony, Shape, Good Housekeeping, and more. I consult and write editorial for brands, too, including Intrepid Travel, Equinox's Furthermore, Heady, Brooklinen, BACH Fitness, and Happy Money.
I've held staff positions at both digital and print publications, most recently at SELF as the branded content editor. I was also the travel editor at BuzzFeed, an editor at Yahoo! Travel, an associate editor at Cosmo, and an assistant editor and editorial assistant at Good Housekeeping. And while I was at Cosmo, I dabbled in TV and radio, both of which I loved.
I grew up in Barrington, Rhode Island (just outside of Providence), and went to Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA, where I majored in American Studies and spent my junior year abroad in London and Norwich, England. I've traveled through 32 countries, and I'm not stopping anytime soon. Aside from travel, my favorite hobbies are running, photography, listening to tons of music (mostly reggae and all the songwriters, plus jam and hip hop), healthy cooking, and just hanging out.
